Medium Security Facility

Chatham Co., Va.

Project consisted of site grading and E & S for 1,200 bed prison. Grading includes 700,000 cubic yards of excavation and relocating a 6" water line.

All the foundation and slab work for eight different structures at the Medium Security facility.

Added to the contract was the upgrade of the existing Chatham wastewater treatment facility in response to the additional flow requirements created by the construction of a new prison in the area.  A headworks, digester, clarifier and disinfection vault are being constructed including the necessary piping and equipment for these new structures at the site.  Also included is approximately 8000 linear feet of offsite force main and gravity sewer piping
