New River Valley Regional Jail

Dublin, Va.

English Construction Co., Inc. is a joint venture partner with Balfour Beatty for the construction of this 153,000-square-foot addition along with renovations to the existing New River Valley Regional Jail.  The work consists of a new five level addition, kitchen renovations, miscellaneous revisions to the existing facility to accommodate a new video visitation system, security electronic systems upgrades to accommodate the new addition as well as the upgrades, and the addition of 72 food passes in the existing medium security cell doors located in E Block.  The new addition construction consists of a concrete and structural steel frame with 8-inch insulated pre-cast exterior wall panels.
