The Meherrin River Regional Jail Mecklenburg Facility is a 39,000-square-foot, 80-bed jail located in Boydton, Va. It serves as a satellite jail to the main facility in Alberta, Va. It uses pre-manufactured steel building for a shell with masonry veneer on the front face of the building. The housing area consists of double-stacked manufactured steel cells. In addition to the inmate housing area, the facility has an administration area, medical area, kitchen, warehouse, and shop.
