This VDOT project is located in the Bristol District and included building a new two-lane road through an old golf course for approximately half a mile in the town of Bluefield. This new road required grading along with storm drainage, new sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, curb and gutter with sidewalks, and improvements to existing roads at the points of connection. The purpose of this new road is to abandon an old bridge over the Blue Stone River that VDOT has deemed unsafe and not suitable for future traffic.
