This NCDOT project will widen six miles of US-29 Business through Reidsville, NC, in Rockingham County. The predominantly two-lane road will be upgraded to four lanes, along with major upgrades to the storm water, sewer, and water systems.

Four intersections will be reconstructed under multiple phases to keep traffic flowing. This work will include five new bridges, MSE walls, shoring, retaining walls and traffic signalization along with the new roadway. The grading consists of 347,000 cubic yards of unclassified excavation and 287,000 cubic yards of borrow excavation. Controlled rock blasting is required due to the close proximity of existing structures.
